Documentary Screening – The Right to Heal

Documentary Screening + Ice Cream

Friday August 22nd at 5:30pm

Cumberland Room, Center for International Experience
33 St. George St., Toronto, ON M5S 1A4

Our first documentary screening took place on Friday, August 22nd, screening The Right to Heal — a documentary about the need for essential surgeries in developing countries and the devastating handicaps that result from what could have been fixed with a trivial surgical procedure.

Thanks to everyone who made it out to our event earlier this summer, which was also our inaugural event! We had a great time and the discussion afterward was quite engaging and insightful. It was interesting to see the diversity of the academic and experiential backgrounds of those who contributed to the discussion, and this effectively helped to spark thoughts on potential solutions and associated shortcomings on elements brought up in the documentary. We hope to use some of the ideas that came out of that discussion in some form or another in our events this year.

Our first documentary screening is kindly sponsored by the Biomedical Engineering Student Association (BESA).
