Ideathon Panel and Workshop

As part of the Engineering World Health Ideathon, we will be hosting a panel discussion and workshop on efficient delivery of medical interventions to low- and middle-income countries. The panel and workshop will take place at Rosebrugh Building, Rm 412 on Sunday, February 28th 2016. Even if you didn’t register for the Ideathon, you are welcome to attend!
 
Panel Discussion (9:45am – 10:45am)
The panel discussion will be a Q&A session, designed to give Ideathon participants a chance to test their ideas and get feedback from a group of experts with experience in implementation of medical interventions.
Panelists:

  • Dr. Lun Hangfu – Founder, Health Mission Outreach
  • Dr. David Gorendar – Volunteer, Health Mission Outreach
  • Ben Draskovic – Junior Fellow – Community Team, Engineers Without Borders UofT Chapter

Hacking Health Workshop (11:00am  – 12:00pm)

Hadi Salah is Manager of Health Ecosystem Partnerships at MaRS Discovery District and co-founder of Hacking Health, an organization that pairs healthcare professionals with designers, developers, innovators and entrepreneurs. By connecting diverse minds and perspectives, Hacking Health drives the creation of innovative solutions to front-line healthcare problems. Hadi will facilitate a rapid ideation session using some tools developed by Nesta. This workshop will be a way to get participants thinking about new ideas to solve wicked problems.
 
Directions: Enter through 170 College Street, not 164 College Street.
  1. Do not go up the steps outside to get into the building, go to the bottom left door of the steps.
  2. Once you enter go up to the 3rd floor
  3. Via the stairs
    • Once out of the stairwell, turn left and follow the hallway/sign to the Rosebrugh bridge
    • Continue down the hallway to Rosebrugh Building
    • The event room (412) will be the second last door on the right
  4. Via the elevator
    • Via the elevator
    • Once you get past the building entrance, turn left
    • Go down the ramp hall
    • Take the elevator up to the 3rd floor where
    • Once you exit you will go straight down the hallway, through the double doors and continue down the hallway
    • Follow the hallway/sign to the Rosebrugh bridge
    • Continue down the hallway to Rosebrugh Building
    • The event room (412) will be the second last door on the right.
